costa rica equine welfare

Costa Rica Equine Welfare is an officially registered non-profit association that looks to improve the lives of working equids throughout the Central American country of Costa Rica.

Faithful, hard-working horses still provide some families with sole income from their hard work in agriculture, tourism, and transport. As well as training service providers in our program areas, our primary goal is to help horse owners understand their horses' needs so that they can live a long, healthy life and fulfill their families' needs.

Our work

WHERE WE WORK

The communities we develop our programs with are in different locations in the country and have working horses in their economic activities, such as tourism, agriculture, and transport.

COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAM

Awareness of the working horses’ welfare involves many people and benefits the whole community. We develop programs within the community with consultants from different countries and particular fields of knowledge.
